REBUILD

We are repairing his house to prepare for the generations who will come after us.  I want this church to be a launch point for many people to become fulltime pastors and missionaries. To be a church planting and revitalization catalyst church to the world.  I want you to pray about what you should give. Listen to God and let Him inspire you.

Letter from Pastor Doug

Dear Church,

In the book of Nehemiah, God used Nehemiah to lead his people to work together to repair the wall that surrounded Jerusalem. It was needed, and it had been broken for many years.  It was amazing how God worked through Nehemiah and the people living in Jerusalem. They did something in 52 days that everyone around them said it was impossible to do.  It had been broken for over 141 years. I always wonder if it only took them 52 days to rebuild it. Why had they not done it sooner?  I think they believed they could not do it.  It took Nehemiah, a man who had an Awe-inspiring view of God, who thought that all things are possible with God.  Nehemiah 2: 17-18 tells us, " 17 So I said to them, “You see the trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been burned. Come, let’s rebuild Jerusalem’s wall so that we will no longer be a disgrace.” 18 I told them how the gracious hand of my God had been on me, and what the king had said to me. They said, “Let’s start rebuilding,” and their hands were strengthened  to do this good work.

Like in the book of Nehemiah we have repairs to our church that need to be made. They are necessary repairs. We have needed to make the repairs for many years. Thank goodness it has not been 141 years, but somethings that need to be replaced are over 75 years old.  So it is time! Last year we were able to raise over 180,000 dollars. It was amazing to witness God working through the hearts and generosity of his people.  We were able to get a new roof put on the part of our building. Replace nearly all of our 75 year old window, fixing a retaining wall and damaged bricks on the building, and getting initial architectural drawings for future renovations completed.  This year we want to build upon last year's progress by getting the cracks on the brick and stucco sealed and painted, the rust removed from the metal and painted.  So we are looking to raise 48,000 dollars hopefully by the end of May. That is an incredible number, but if God is in it, he will help us achieve it.  We are repairing his house to prepare for the generations who will come after us.  I want this church to be a launch point for many people to become full-time pastors and missionaries. To be a church planting and revitalization catalyst church to the world.  I want you to pray about what you should give. Listen to God and let Him inspire you.

Letter From Finance Team

Dear Church,

With much prayer and discussion, the Building & Grounds and Finance Committees has been meeting with Engineers, contractors and builders to assess needed repairs our church.  Listed below is a compilation and costs of these needed repairs:

Façade repair to the B-Wing - The façade holding the current big windows in place has deteriorated to the point that the brick has pulled away from the sill and is allowing water to run between the block and the brick.  If not addressed, this will cause catastrophic failure and allow the brick to loosen and fall onto the playground area.

The cost for the repair to the façade on both sides of the B-Wing, is estimated at $18,823.00. - Completed

Windows in B-Wing - The existing windows are the original windows that were installed in 1947. Caulking around most of these windows has become dry and brittle, and in some cases, has fallen from around the window pane.  Some windows are broken and patched with tape or other material.  This has caused some windows to be and in danger of falling out. This has also allowed heat and air to leak out during the winter and summer months, thereby increasing utility costs..

The cost of replacing these windows is estimated at $60,000. Additionally, the remaining 73 windows to the B-Wing need to be replaced. The cost of replacing these windows is estimated at $64,000.00 for a total cost of replacing windows estimated at $124,000.00 - Completed

Repaired flat roof - Completed

Structural and survey work for future renovations- In Progress

Retaining Wall  - The retaining wall surrounding the playground area has deteriorated and also is in danger of falling onto the playground area.  The water drainage from this wall during heavy rains is also allowing water to seep into the 2nd floor of the B-Wing and causing damage to some rooms.

The cost for repair of the retaining wall is estimated at $26,000.00

In Progress

Sealing the cracks in the stucco and bricks. Fixing the rust on the metal materials.

The paint company are going to clean our windows, seal and paint our complete outer building. We are going to use a Loxan material paint that will make the build waterproof.

Total cost $60,400, - We currently have raised over $12,000

Our target goal is $48,000. by the end of May.

In Fund Raising

The benefit of said repairs would improve the structural integrity of the our building and provide a more safe and secure area for our children to play and would decrease the cost of our utilities.

These repairs are necessary and will need a “whole church” effort to accomplish these  task.
